A 104-run fourth wicket partnership between Asaduzzaman and Alamgir Sarwar guided Sher-e-Bangla Agricultural University to a six-wicket victory over Islamic University in the Public Universities and Services Cricket Tournament yesterday.
At the Jahangirnagar University ground, Islamic University rode on Habib's run-a-ball 61 to make 217 before being bundled out in 47.2 overs. Tomal added 30 off 35 balls.
In reply, Sher-e-Bangla Agricultural University overhauled the target, making 221 for four in 43.3 overs.
Asaduzzaman hit 68 off 70 balls that contained eight boundaries while Alamgir remained not out on 72 off 69 balls with four boundaries and three sixes.
In the other match, Bangladesh Agricultural University beat Noakhali Science and Technology University by four runs at the BKSP cricket ground.
The match was decided in parabola method as rain stopped the play with Science and Technology making 149-3 in 39 overs in reply to 171.
Ashfak Ahmed however earlier rescued Agricultural University to put up a decent total on the board as the number eight batsman struck an unbeaten 57 off 88 balls that featured three fours and two sixes.
