Eight teams have qualified for the final round of the Bashundhara Champions Club Cup football tournament while the fate of four clubs' advancement remained under cloud.
According to the tournament bylaws, 12 teams from twelve venues were supposed to qualify for the final round of the meet. While eight teams have advanced to the next stage without a scratch, issues such as similar points, player disputes and fixed matches will delay the promotion of the remaining four teams.
The teams elevated to the final round are Shaheed Muktijoddha Moin Smriti Sangsad (Jessore), Chittagong Mohammedan Blues, Fantose Sports Association (Rangpur), Brothers Union Pabna (Rajshahi), Shuktara Jubo Sangsad (Narayanganj), Dinajpur Football Academy, Shariatpur Sadar Upazilla Krira Samity and Young Men's Club (Dhaka).
Barguna, Habiganj, Feni and Meherpur are the venues where the final round teams are yet to be decided in a meeting of the tournament committee today. Bangladesh Football Federation (BFF) representatives at the venues will submit their report to tournament committee chairman Shawkat Ali Khan Jahangir who will preside over the meeting
